"Listen to your wife. "

Myk, banker (and moonlighting as a multi-sport athlete), moderately aggressive investor

How did you get started in investing?

I started with insurance and a pension fund when I started working. After getting married, my wife and I started investing in time deposits, real estate, mutual funds, VULs, and UITFs. I would say it's fun investing, especially when you're earning. There were also times that you're seeing red in your investments -- that's where you'll really learn.

What's the most important lesson you've learned from investing?

From experience, investment goals change when you update your civil status. Instead of only thinking about yourself, you now take into account your family -- for them to have something day-to-day, or for rainy days, and even to make sure that they will have something when you're gone. So, listen to your wife, decide on your family's future together.
